Regional Workshop Advances Nutrition Financing and Policy Integration in Asia
Bangkok, Thailand (December 6, 2025)— Representatives from 11 Asian countries gathered at a regional workshop on nutrition-responsive budgeting, budget tagging, and tracking, organized by the Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Network Asia (SUN-CSN Asia) in partnership with the SUN Secretariat, R4D, C4N, GIZ, and the World Bank. Participants included government officials, SUN focal points, civil society representatives, and UN agencies such as UNICEF, WFP, FAO, UN Nutrition, World Vision, ClimEat, and SMS Asia.

The workshop focused on sharing progress, addressing challenges, and identifying good practices in integrating nutrition into other sectors. Discussions highlighted the importance of convergence budgeting, periodic expenditure reviews, and developing typologies of nutrition interventions for accurate tracking and resource allocation.

Side events included the launch of the SUN CSN Asia Regional Strategy 2026–2030, a catch-up meeting with SUN CSN Asia representatives, and a partners meeting to share the strategy with regional UN organizations.
The workshop reinforced the value of regional collaboration for strengthening nutrition policy, financing, and accountability, supporting countries in tracking and allocating resources effectively.
